Cat With Crooked Jaw Is Rescued – Owner Turns Crooked Jaw Into A Beautiful Smile

By Jake Manning

This beautiful rescue cat her wonderful smiles everyday, even though she’s had a rough start to her life. She still finds so much joy in the world! Meet Duchess.

Duchess was a stray who was hit by a car, leaving her with a crooked jaw. Her Facebook page said, “most places would’ve just euthanized her, but by some miracle Duchess got lucky and the staff at Adobe Animal Hospital took a chance and worked to repair her jaw. She was in recovery for roughly a month;she was on a feeding tube and lots of medicine. Her chances of survival were slim, but she was a fighter and pulled through.

“The day I first met Duchess her mouth was just beginning to heal and the feeding tube had just been removed, and she was very thin…the lowest meow caught my attention,” wrote her owner. “Her eyes showed so much sadness but her purrs showed so much love and hope.”

Her new owner, an experienced cat lover, had never taken care of a special needs kitty before, but knew as soon as she laid eyes on Duchess that they were meant to be together. Duchess entered their family and found a wonderful home.

“She has been a part of our family since November and she walks around like she’s owns the house, sitting where she pleases and warming hearts wherever she goes. She loves cuddling and playing with her toys.”

“We are still learning her quirks and helping her live her new life but we wouldn’t have it any other way, she has had a few more procedures since coming home with me but she is getting stronger everyday and we couldn’t be more proud.”

She told Love Meow that “now she’s grown so much and I couldn’t be prouder, from a cat whose chances of survival were at 20% to a spunky little love bug who climbs on everything and loves on everyone.”

She’s an amazing miracle cat with a fantastic story! It’s beautiful and inspiring that we get to see her growth and strength of will, to find joy in the everyday wonder of life.
